Winding Narrows Canyon

Located in Zion National Park, the Narrows is situated on the North Fork of the Virgin River. The Temple of Sinawava, where the river enters main Zion Canyon, begins the 4.3 mile hike up to Big Springs. The gorge is comprised of vertical sandstone cliffs rising up to 2,400 feet, with he river running wall to wall, up to thirty feet wide. The bottom of the river is covered with rocks the size of bowling balls, and the water gets periodically deeper in certain areas.
